I certainly believe that thinking more clearly about ethical issues and moral dilemmas has a huge part in making a decision on doing the “right thing”. I feel that the utilization of our own morals in decision making ends up showing the type of character we have within ourselves. Everybody’s morals may not be in line with either but standing up for what you believe in, usually based on morals, shows your commitment to a decision and wanting it to be in line with what one would think is right. This was mentioned in “Rethinking Ethics in Law Enforcement” as in when an officer has a bad moral character, they will make bad decisions such as tampering with or fabricating evidence (Fitch, 2011, p. 18). Even though the officer may feel they are doing the right thing by having poor cases that are filled with lies, they are actually doing the wrong thing based on their low morals. As a Christian, I try to surround myself with like-minded people. Meaning, I do my best to
