1 Gun Control The mass shootings in schools and concerts have contributed to the discussion of gun control in the Congress, city councils, political science studies, scientific journals, the media, and the society at large. Guns are an indispensable part of an ordinary American’s culture, even though some of the occupants believe that guns are the root of evil in the society. Presently, weapons apply to criminal activities and mass murders. By impacting laws on permitted gun handling, the rate of violent crimes increases with an increase in the number of handguns in circulation. Secondly One’s risk of being killed is raised by individual ownership of a gun, and lastly, by keeping firearms out of the hands of ruffians, vicious wrongdoings will be under control. Therefore, it is primarily the responsibility of the law enforcers and the citizens especially the youth to see a decline in the viciousness caused by weapons in the USA. This project takes a stand on pro-gun control to reduce the rate of violent gun-related crimes; even though guns are useful when it comes to self-defense, possession of firearms has increased the risk of suicides and homicides in households and the streets leading to an increase in death rates thus, guns are dangerous enough regardless of their use. Individual ownership of guns increases the risk of one facing death since a stacked, unsecured firearm in the house resembles a protection strategy that neglects to convey no less than ninety-five percent of the time you require it though it may have a constant potential. According to the Brady campaign, in the US one out of three households with families own handguns, and approximately 1.7 million kids reside in a home that exposes them to open stored arms without safes (Robertson). For one thing, just the most minor portion of casualties of ferocious wrongdoing can use a firearm and gun holders are 4.5 times more inclined to be shot
2 amid a strike. In 2013, there were a total of 33,636 deaths from gun incidences and 11,208, or 33 percent, of those passing’s were homicide cases (Robertson). After the October 1 st shooting that left ten people dead, numerous people are asking for more laws to control the firearm. According to Kristof, 467,321 individuals became victims of the 2011-gun perpetrations in crime. In the same period, statistics collected by the FBI reveals that gun use caused 68 percent of killings, burglary offenses were at 41 % and 21 % of attacks across the country (Kristof). The truth of the matter is that if NRA asserts about the adequacy of firearms in lessening wrongdoing were valid; the U.S. would have the most reduced murder rate among developed countries rather than the most noteworthy murder rates. The culture of weapon love of the delighted self-defense limits of firearms and the energy to be used against visible foes is a message which reverberates with victims of Santa Barbara executioner.
