Community Hospital steadily growing with making the attempt to stay in competition with
neighboring facilities I recommend that Community Hospital acquire the rental property on the south
side of the city the building has enough space for several physician offices to order to stay in
competition with neighboring competitors.
The hospital should transform this space to an urgent
care/acute care facility.
The acute care facility should employ a pediatric physician, two family practice
physicians that specializes in orthopedics, cardiology, and oncology, with the aging community.
Per the five year projection plan there will be a 3% increase in Medicare coverage.
With this 3%
increase brings an aging community with medical issues such as diabetes, heart conditions, and cancer,
providing these services to individuals will give those the opportunity to have a primary physician and
specialist all in the same building who may suffer with these illnesses.
An aging community also brings
about those that may no longer be able to drive to Community Hospital were their primary physician
may be located providing this option will not only build the morale for the hospital but also gives
doctors the opportunity to lighten their load and give patients the proper care in which they deserve.
The hospital only has one obstetrician on staff providing an obstetrician in an acute care will
have women in the nearing areas have something closer to home instead of traveling several miles to
competitors that is out of their zip codes or demographics.
Women today are battling one of the most
deadly illnesses in the world breast cancer, and cervical cancer, providing a women’s services giving
them the opportunity to get examined to maintain early detection and be treated.
Another service that
would be beneficial to an acute care in the area is pediatrics children are always becoming ill, having
accidents, or may need physicals, or immunizations for school or extra-curricular activities an cannot get
in to see their primary physician the acute care will be able to provide children with emergency and non-
emergency services.
Competing hospitals has already drawn out a percentage of patients because lack there off
quality of services or long wait times either it’s the issue of getting an appointment or long sitting times

in the physician’s office.
Lab services and STD testing is a great service to also add to the acute care.
A
pharmacy should also be included in the space this gives patients the convenience to have their
prescription submitted right in then and there without having to drive to another pharmacy to get their
medications.
The job market growing in the automotive factory in the north side of town those workers
may live on the south side of town will have the option to see a primary physician closer to home or to
their employers.
