Surname 1 Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Date Chemical Compound in Makeups Makeups are made from a combination of very many chemical substances. Makeups are basically products that are put on the skin of humans for beauty, altering the appearance, cleansing and generally their purposes are to enhance beauty. There are many types of makeups each having different chemical composition and used for different purposes ( de Paula Pereira and Douglas Dourado, 168 ). The chemical components that are mostly used are wax, alcohol, pigment and oil. How they are used to make makeups involve three different stages, the first one involves mixing and melting the raw materials that are used, one of the mixtures contain the solvents, the second one contains oils and the last one contains waxy material and fats. They are then heated in separate ceramic containers then mixed with pigments of color. The pigment mass is then ground and mixed and added to hot mass wax till an uniform consistency and color is obtained ( Kim, Yang-Soon and Hyun-Ju Cho, 430 ). When the
