Surname 1 Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Date Racing cars Introduction Racing cars are very fast cars that can be used in racing competitions. These categories of cars are made in a very dissimilar way compared to other ordinary vehicles; they are always made to meet specified criteria and features according to the needs and wants of a car club. Racing cars became popular soon after the invention of gasoline since they have modified internal combustion engine which could only be driven by very light and easy combustible fuels, which also did not exude a lot of smoke, this was around the 1880s. The first racing cars took part in the first competition in 1894, it was an 80 km race which started in Paris and ended in Rouen, France. The race was won with an average speed of 16.3 kmph (Thoms and Len, 127). Reading about racing cars really captivates me because it is really interesting and the more I read about them I get to understand racing cars and most importantly is an adventurous experience which enables me to have imaginations of being in a real race car.
