MBA 533 – Motors and More HR Project Abstract Motors and More, Inc., is a small manufacturing company, looking to increase sales and production while drawing from a local community experiencing a labor shortage. To increase production, this company needs to establish a Human Resource department that can attract premier talent, retain strong employees, create internal promotion opportunities and diversify the workforce. The human resources department will need to execute a bold recruiting and employee retention plan, improve the benefits and compensation package and provide employees with training, development and advancement opportunities. Motors and More must consider future changes and be prepared to handle a tighter labor market, an increasingly diverse workforce, quality control concerns, changes in management, and new product development. This document outlines a proposed strategy to achieve these goals and to provide a means for Motors and More to achieve its production objectives, while also providing employees with better compensation, benefits, training and career opportunities. 3

Headquartered in a small town of 28,000 people, Motors and More manufacture small engines and accessories for home and industrial products in a small town of 28,000 people. They face a low unemployment rate coupled with a high demand for quality staff (McCain, 2009). The new director of HR must work to create a thriving workforce.
