It seems as though Marguerite De Navarre is placing the blame for the tragic ending on Amador. However the blame seems to be tied to Amador being blinded by his feelings for Florida. Amador is deeply in love with Florida, and because he knows that he will never be able to be with her, he devotes himself to being near her.
