A lot of the support for the war was half- hearted and doubtful American participation in WWI - military aspect: amazing how quickly and efficiently the US became mobilized for war; our participation in the war was a race against time - The turning point of the war came in 1918 with the German offensive o The German offensive fails as the British and French hold their lines (American troops did not play a large role in stopping the German offensive). The Germans were forced to fight a defensive war now - Military outcome of WWI o The US didn’t win the war, according to British and the French o The US did play a role in winning the war with the aid of money and supplies to the allies. (also contributed with Navy and backing of the convoy system). Domestic Aspects of the War :Mobilization o Brought innovation and experience with gov. management in the economy o The Draft o Economic mobilization
