Michael Herrera 5/4/17 6 th period Edgar Allan Poe Essay In the movie, The Raven there was two poems that were directly referenced in the film. The two poems and the six stories were The Raven, The Black Cat, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Masque of the Red Death, The Premature Burial, A Cask of Amontillado and The Murders in the Rue Morgue. In the movie. I feel like these stories and poems were portrayed very well in the movie except for the story, The raven. None of the key details from the Raven were included in the movie. Within the movie, details from The Premature Burial were very influential throughout the story. The main girl in the movie was hidden under the floor boards in most of the movie. The insane man that kept her hostage had buried her alive in hopes that the girl would die, but the girl kept digging little holes in her tiny wooden casket that allowed her very little light to see into the gentleman’s lair and allowed her some tiny holes to breathe through. The Pit and the Pendulum was only really mentioned once throughout the movie whenever the detective had discovered the severed body cut in half with a pendulum from a clock. The story The Tell-Tale Heart was hardly mentioned at all in the movie but there were some points added into the movie. In the movie, the Masque of the Red Death was
