August 22, 2018 Reading Autobiography I would describe myself as an occasional reader. I typically read text messages, annoying Facebook posts, news articles, and school-related readings on a daily basis. Boredom tends to be the motivation of why I read, especially when waiting in a doctors’ offices. I do, however, highly enjoy reading new articles. I like to keep up with current events by reading news from outlets, such as: The New York Times, National Geographic, and The Washington Post. The first experience that I had with books is when I was in elementary school. Every six weeks we were required to read books, which we were tested on. At the end, the teacher would distribute awards to readers based on how many books they read and how well they did on the tests. This is how I came across The Rainbow Fish , which was my favorite book as a child. I can vividly remember the colorful pages and how the Rainbow Fish gave away all his beautiful scales. Now that I’m older, I’m very questionable as to how it even became a children’s book.
