December 7, 2006 Gwendolynne Reid Lecturer Department of English Tompkins Hall, Box 8105 Raleigh, NC 27695-8105 Dear Mrs. Reid: When the class project was first introduced to us in class about what it takes to succeed and overcome all of the obstacles of being a first year student in college I thought it was going to be an easy task. As we came along to the beginning portions of the project I realized that this was going to be more challenging than I first thought it would be. The first thing that we did was to come up with questions that each of us could ask the group of people that we were assigned to. My group was assigned to upper-classmen or alumni. In the contents of this letter I will explain the contributions and hard work that my group and I put into this class project. In the beginning, I did not know whether to interview random upper-classmen or upper- classmen that I already knew. The reason behind this is because I didn’t know if I would get serious answers from the upper-classmen that I know. But on the other hand, I didn’t know if a random upper-classmen would want to take time out of their busy day to answer some questions for a random guy. I thought about it for awhile and I ended up
