Instructional strategy: Introduction:Students will work together as a large group to define what a law is. I will explain to them thata law is a rule that tells how people should act in the community. Laws are created to keep people safe and allow for all people to receive fair treatment. I will write down the definition that the group comes up with for what a law is. Teacher Modeling:Next, students will tell what types of groups that they are members of. Examples of different groups may be a school community, a city, their family, a church member, etc.
