Eli Quinn Eng 101 Section 105 January 25, 2007 Wine Heart Benefit vs. Alcohol and Ischemic People who consume alcohol often were probably surprised when they heard about the studies that showed that light alcohol consumption daily could reduce their chance of heart diseases. According to a health study from CNN, “Wine Heart Benefit ‘small’,” there are better ways to reduce the risks of health problems and proceed to say that drinking in small moderations has not been proven to cause heart problems. Rod Jackson et al, writers of “Alcohol and Ischemic Heart Disease: Probably no Free Lunch,” share some of the same points of view on the risks of heart disease to light drinkers. Although both of these articles share similarities in which they have the same topic, they each have their own style and approach which makes the two articles completely different. Each of these articles has topics that are similar and feel mostly the same way about the risks to the heart caused by consumption of alcohol. In Wine Heart Benefit, the writer uses Dr. Jackson and his colleague’s article for reference to get his point across.
