Abstract In this scientific lab report the light intensity, action spectrum, and absorption spectrum exercises had tested. For the first experiment the effect of light intensity on photosynthesis shows that the higher the light intensity is the slower the rate of photosynthesis due to bleaching of chlorophyll. For the next experiment the effect of light wavelength on photosynthesis process had tested. To measure the effectiveness of different wavelengths (colors) on photosynthesis, an action spectrum had developed by inferring photosynthetic activity from the production of oxygen. For the third and last experiment the absorption of spectrum light in spinach had tested in between four different solutions with different wavelength/color. The photosynthetic pigment act differently in different wavelengths depends the solvent in the solution. Introduction For this process, three experiments had to be done to describe and understand the concept of photosynthesis. The purpose of this lab was to identify the light intensity, action spectrum, and absorption spectrum on photosynthesis. The effect of light intensity on the testing tubes shows us that the higher the light intensity is the slower the rate of photosynthesis. My hypothesis for the first experiment will be that the solution which is closer to the light source is going to speed up the process of photosynthesis.
