There has constantly been a debate among designers, artists and architects alike, all of who have tried to understand and define the principles of what good design is. Designers of the past through their practice and discipline have long tried to answer what constitutes a work as good design. The idea of design is an ever-evolving discipline where rules are meant to be broken and where the boundaries are meant to be surpassed. At the core of it, good design is subjective it is not bound by rules and is about breaking old practices. The pioneers of modernism, Nikolas Pevsner argued that good design was design that served a purpose and function greater than just aesthetics.
