URCOVERED SYSTEM DESIGN2 AbstractURCovered insurance is implementing a mobile application as an additional enhancement to their existing claims process. This document will provide an explanation of the system specifications, data design, user interface, system architecture, and lastly includes a feasibility analysis to show any areas of concern.
URCOVERED SYSTEM DESIGN3 SpecificationsWithin the systems requirement document the specifications were covered that would meet or exceed the expectations set forth by the company. Using a context diagram to represent the physical design it can be seen that the customer/case manager relationship will be more efficient and user friendly as expected. This will also keep the customer up to date on any changes in the claims process in real-time as well as allow the case manager the ability to provide those updates from virtually anywhere. The diagram for the new system is as follows:Data Design
URCOVERED SYSTEM DESIGN4 According to Tilley and Rosenblatt, an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) is a model that shows the logical relationships and interaction among system entities (pg. 287). The following Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) shows the proposed solution for URCovered, Inc. It indicates how the customer interacts with the mobile application, the case manager, and the claims database. The client would, using the mobile application, open a new claim and then could make queries against that claim for information. In turn, the claims manager would create the requested claim and then be able to post updates to that claim via the mobile application.
URCOVERED SYSTEM DESIGN5 The following third normal function (3NF) charts depict the primary keys that are used inthe database in order to make referencing and connection seamless. The claim from the customer is first assigned a claim number that is then used to assign the claim to a specific manager in the claim manager table based on location to the customer. That claim manager has an ID number that is then used to link them to the customer table as shown here: Customer TableCustomer IDCustomer NameResolutionClaim Manager No.
