Homework #2 : Explain the principles that govern the education of students with disabilities. Make sure to address the requirements of an individualized educational program (IEP). There are six principles governing the education of students with disability and are there to provide the framework which special education services are designed and provided to students with disabilities: 1. Free Appropriate Public Education : Requires that each child with a disability, eligible for special education, will be entitled to a free appropriate public education. Free –It makes it so that the education of a child with disability isn’t paid for by their parents but provided at public expense. Except for if the fee is also required for non-disabled students as well for regular education. Appropriate – Every child with a disability is entitled to and education that is “appropriate” for their needs. What is “appropriate education” is decided on a case to case basis and will not be the same for each child most likely.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
