ECD220 3/9/08 Leadership Paper The movie Grandma’s Boy is centered on a video game production company that is trying to meet a deadline. There are many bugs in their current version, so the manager, Mr. Cheezle, brings in an expert to get the game testers back on track. The reason he has to bring in an expert is more than likely due to his style of leadership and the many ways he lacks in understanding leadership factors. Mr. Cheezle is clearly not the normal manager, and is portrayed as a hippie, but he clearly chose to take on the leadership position and to use his particular style. Mr. Cheezle’s style of leadership is free reign. He assumes that the testers can organize themselves in order to complete the video game. He does handle the major parts of the company as a whole and holds routine meetings to foster communication, but he does not personally assign tasks and is content to let the testers do what the feel is the appropriate amount of work.
