Abstract: My research paper is on the topic “online multiplayer video games and social interaction between young generations”. My point of the research paper was to find out that young people can actually have social communication and interaction between each other by playing online multiplayer video games. Nowadays, young generations are so much involved in technologies like smart phones and computers etc. They spend so much time on these things using social media, taking pictures, playing video games etc. The study inspected how young generations socially interact with other individuals and also maintain their actual social life. The study showed that they made so many good friends since they started playing video games. They have good relationship with their gaming friends not only while gaming but also outside the game environment. They also said that they also have good relationship with their other friends who don’t play online multiplayer video games and have good relationship with their family members also. The whole study demonstrated that it can actually help young generations to socially interact with each other and they are not socially isolated.

Introduction: Video games named NIMROD (1951), OXO (1952), and SPACEWAR (1962) were the first computer video games where players used to play on a single computer. The computers started to have time sharing in the later 1960s, which created the scope for multiple users to share use of the computers simultaneously. After the remote access was increased, “host based” games were made, by the help of these the remote users could connect to a single computer to play multiplayer based games. Packet based computer networking started to grow later in the 1970s. Xerox PARC company developed Local Area Network which is based on Ethernet in between 1973and 1975. From 1969 the wide area network ARPANET started developing and that leaded to internet in 1983.
