Virtual Field TripGreek architecture provides some of the most iconic and notable structures in history today. It was so influential that it is currently still being used. There were three orders of Greek architecture. They include the Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian orders. In the Ionic order of architecture, the columns are supported by the bases. The columns have more vertical flutes than that of the Doric order. Ionic capitals have two spiral scroll shapes that rest atop a band of leaf-shaped ornaments. The top of the column is narrow, and the entablature has three horizontal bands (Hemingway, 2003). The frieze, which is usually designed and arranged in a specific pattern throughout the location is the most important part of the design (Hemingway, 2003). Greek architecture has three different orders. These orders are the Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. Each of these orders were based on specific designs, the Doric is the largest of all the designs,
