book is required reading. In fact, you are technically required to read the book
before I lecture on the material. From the

you can usually tell
what I am about to lecture on so you'll know what to read. Another very
special assignment: you must read appendix A on vectors on your own
outside of class. We will use that material all the time and I will assume it
starting day two of classes.

Homework:
Homework will be posted on the course web site sometime on
