Maus is a holocaust graphic novel written by Art Spiegelman, who is very effective in his story telling of the holocaust story because it is so personal to him. Spigelman often didn't see eye to eye with his father, and his mother committed suicide. So his graphic novel maus was a way of connecting with his parents instead of which the darkness they lived in. The Story of Maus is based of the very serious interviews with his father about his life before, after, and during the war. Spiegelman had many advantages as well as limitations when writing his graphic Novel using the comic book form to tell a very serious story, which show how Maus is one of the most unique graphic novels ever written.
