There are both positive and negative aspects of care giving from the caregiver's perspective. Many caregivers may find that care giving can be taxing, stressful, and burdensome at times. They may also find that the experience is overwhelming and can often come with adverse consequences to their own health/psychological well-being. On the positive side, caregivers often find solace in making someone else’s life better, and that their sacrifice is worth being able to help someone in need. Caregiving as a role can be very rewarding and cathartic in that they develop close relationships while caring for a patient or family member. Another positive is informal caregiving is a family member willing to take care of a relative on a daily basis with every form of care from getting the person or persons up out of bed, dressed and fed their meals.
