One of the driving forces for new technology in the world today is digital revolution. Years ago, there were no such things as computers. These new technologies have changed the way companies gather information, store information, and manage their businesses. Two of the many technological advances in the healthcare field in the last 25 years would be the electronic health record and patient portals. The electronic health record was created to help manage patient files and information as well as to make it easier to keep this information private and secure. The EHR works to make more efficient care for patients. Before the EHR there were several different platforms to handle each aspect of patient care, with the EHR these aspects have been able to be condensed to a single platform where it can all be done. The patient portal was developed to let patients be more active with their healthcare. These
