ANXIETY, EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDERSI can relate to Susan’s situation very well because the same thing happens to me , I get really nervous to the point where I would literally tremble when I have to speak in public. However, preparing way in advance and rehearsing repeatedly has help. So therefore Susan is perfectly normal. She does not have a psychological disorder, nervousness an anxiety is almost normal for everyone when it comes to publicly speaking. Having meticulous preparation and rehearsing helps in decreasing her anxiety. The difference between normal everyday anxiety & a disorder is that a disorder is out of your control. You will go to the end of this world to get out of doing that thing that gets you anxious or will just go completely blank. In this example, Susan does not show any of that extreme reaction as a disorder. Anxiety is sometimes caused by abnormalities in the genetic structures or an unbearable anxious situation, which occurred in theirchildhood. However, based on the signs that Susan is displaying, she only gets anxious when sheis faced with presenting in front of crowds where others will observe her. Therefore, based on this situation we can see that presenting before a crowd is the anxiety-producing event which triggers Susan’s response. This reaction is a normal one for many people including myself. This can be classified as an intense fear or phobia that people experience rather than an anxiety disorder. Moreover, Susan may be experiencing this fear because she may be afraid that she will do or say something that may be embarrassing. For this reason, she is rehearsing the material to
