Corey Hillebo Econ 330 2/19/08 GPS Grid Sampling Business Proposal The Business Name: Central Iowa GPS Grid Sampling The Service Provided: To take soil samples and send them to soil labs to write prescriptions for variable flow fertilizer and variable seed planting. Customers and their needs: The customers would be central Iowa row crop farmers and co-ops. Their needs are to have someone with the time and equipment to take multiple soil samples from multiple fields around central Iowa and to write recommendations for them. Value and Meeting needs: This will create value to the farmers by saving them money on fertilizer and being more efficient with their seed. Often there is a set amount of fertilizer or seed rate per acre, if we know what is in the soil in a particular part of the field it may prove that it doesn’t need the recommended amount. This would in turn save the farmer money. It would bring a value to the coops by saving them time and allowing them to focus on other things during the sampling period. Difference in the market:
