Gilbert, assuming hypothetically that no improvements have been made and that the company is still operating in the same way today when it closed in 1967. For continuous improvement the manager has asked me to develop a performance improvement strategy, brief the management team, develop the idea with the team, seek the team’s approval from the manager. A Performance Improvement Strategy In this regard, AC Gilbert will focus on six masteries which include leader ship, customer, chain supply, integration and data and human resources. Each of the mastery is aimed at prompting the stakeholders to work harder and increase the organisation performance. AC Gilbert need a visionary and creative leader who should have a vision detailed strategy and awareness of changing environment of the company a. Strategic Goals ●Increase target market, moving from traditional boy’s toys to including a girl range of toys ●Increase the media attention, getting more customers from television advertising, reaching out to a much larger audience ●Providing consumers with more exciting and fast paced toys, widen range of available toys ●Provide quality products and have more effective and efficient methods of delivery in place b. Proposed Process or Amendment to Current Process ●Retaining employees who are skilled in the different production lines. These valued employees will then assist the training of new recruits and current employees who required aid ●Increasing the advertising by about 50% ●Allocating a position dedicated to maintaining the quality of the finish products of each production line and another position whereby the standards and procedures
are maintained. ●Division of the marketing team, split into two departments: one into marketing and another forming the sales department ●Conduct a survey, monitoring and acknowledging all feedbacks provided ●An employee reward and compensation system will be implement to improve the growth and development of individual employees ●Review the company process every six months, sending out surveys and questionnaires to all existing employees, getting their feedback for improve the business process and performance of employees ●Develop new product and process in faster and better way at the cost-effective production. ●Manufacturing of new product lines should be introduced, targeting the older and mature segment market. ●Online promotion of the toys through social media such as Facebook and other online sources, for example on kid games websites Brief Explanation of how the proposal will improve Performance and Competitiveness ●The employees that are already skilled and trained will each be given a team / group of staff to train and provide them with the knowledge required for that toy production line.
