When a judge has an overload of cases, he or she cannot apply the same amount of due diligence that perhaps he or she would have wanted to on each particular case, if he or she was given the proper amount of time. Additionally, this hurts the men and women who are facing these possible charges; this can often be problematic, causing their cases to be rushed or simply pushedaside. Thus, evidence can possibly be overlooked, some that may even show their innocence within a court of law.Criminal court cases can often take a very long time to reach a court trial, for many reasons. Sadly, many of these factors are out of the defendant(s) and lawyers hand. The reason it can take so long, because the courts have the absolute power as to the schedule of a defendant’s trial. Often times, courts will try to schedule similar cases on the same day to simplify things for themselves; this is done when considering the large number of cases on their waiting docket list that hold similarity. This indeed does delay justice for both the defendant(s) and victim(s), or even deny justice for many individuals as they are forced to wait, even if innocent.
