Physics Lab Report 4 Electrical Circuits and Electrical Resistance Teddy Portney 3/27/07 Lab LK Section A I. Introduction Present in virtually every piece of electronics in today’s world, circuits are very important to people, although few realize this. Circuits are electrical systems, which usually consist of a difference in electric potential, or a voltage. Also present are other components, such as capacitors, transistors, lights, switches, and many more. All of these components have a resistance associated with them, although providing resistance is not their main objective. A few very important formulas associated with circuits relate the voltage to the resistance and/or current, such as Ohm’s Law: V = IR. For part of this lab we also need to know that R = ρ L/A, where is the resistivity of the wire. II. Procedure For part one of this lab, we were given two wires. We used digital calipers to measure the diameter, meter sticks to measure the length, and a multimeter to measure
