ENGL 133H Description Exercise As the penetrating shine of the sun’s rays rises above the sharp hills in the distance and hits the dark murky pond, my reflection stares back at me with an unwavering glare. A black crusty frost still suffocates the dilapidated grass that blankets the entire field surrounding this diminutive pool of bacteria and decaying vegetation. Dark shadows creeping out from ancient ivy-cover oak trees still drown out the plant life on the south side of the pond, while a worn out rope dangles from an out stretched branch. Next to me, sunk in the water, is an a crumbling row boat that seems to be disintegrating a little bit more every time the harsh wind pushes a swell of water against its side. To the North, a run down shack that is used as a barn comes into view. Its weather-beaten roof has eroded in places and more shingles are missing then present. The sides seem to bend and creek with the slightest push and as the sun emerges behind it the cracks in the walls glow eerily. Just behind it, at the top of the hill, sits an antique farm house strangled by an
