ABRAHAM LINCOLNPresident Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth April 14, 1865, just days after General Robert E. Lee Surrendered and ended the Civil War. What many may not know is that there were 10 people involved in the planning of the assassination of the President at that time.
THE CONSPIRATORSSeven of the ten Conspirators are pictured. Mary Surratt, her son John Surratt, and Dr. Samuel Mudd are not pictured.Of these conspirators, Mary Surratt, was the first woman tried by a military tribunal and being sentenced to death by the U.S. Government.
MARY SURRATTThroughout the trial, it was found that John Wilkes Booth had stayed at her residence along with other conspirators.
