THE CLICK-THROUGH GENERATION 2 Abstract The newest generation of people called the click-through generation, have been more connected with technology than any other generation. Because of this, professors have been faced with students that are challenging the traditional teaching methods. This generation was born with technology all around them and have no idea what life was like without a cell phone, laptop or tablet. These students are the generation of instant everything, which is leading to a lack of effort inside the classroom. This sense of entitlement has brought them to believe that the rules do not apply to them. They are prone to place the blame on an external source instead of taking responsibility for their actions. This new click-through generation will learn differently and educators will need to learn to teach differently in order to help them.
THE CLICK-THROUGH GENERATION 3 "The illiterate of the 21st Century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn." – ( Alvin Toffler, n.d) We believe it is time to present a new generation to the world, we have seen the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, and the Millennial Generation.
