Question 1. Within languages there are some areas in which dialects of that language are different. Words within cultures, especially the English language may have more than one meaning. This could cause confusion if you are talking to two different people from different backgrounds. Content errors can occurin dialogue such as lexical or syntactic errors. Lexical errors refer to the errors in meaning and syntactic errors are errors in the word order in a sentence. However, misconceptions persist regarding the use of different language varieties especially within United States educational programs. While these issues have been recognized for years, and linguists have been conducting research to develop a better understanding of dialect patterns and attitudes toward U.S. dialects, much work remains to be done to develop dialect awareness and acceptance. Two dialects can both be versions of the same language, but they are different in their own way. When a person is a translator in Spanish, who may struggle in certain regions because their dialect is differently than they are taught or know. Thedifferent areas may present them with phrases or words in which are unfamiliar to them. Dialect is, without a doubt, one of the single most challenging aspects of any translation process, and if it’s not handled right, it can lead to materials being incorrectly translated, or even losing their meaning and intention.English has been said to be one of the most difficult languages to understand. It is seen as an international language but there are so many different meanings to one word. Think of our versions of there, their, and they’re. Here in the United States for the most part know what the difference of each word is but when used or written people even within our linguistic field make the mistake of writing the wrong one. We are not given a pre-determined set of words with their singular meaning. Just because the meaning of the word has one meaning to a person does not mean that the person next to them derived the same meaning. According to Oxford dictionary they add approximately 1000 words per year. Language is always changing and evolving in different formats, styles, and efficiency. The sole purpose of evolving language is cultures wanted to make the language more efficient for them, so they agreed on sounds images, and words to which they would use throughout their culture.
