2 Joan Smith & Martha Wright The purpose of this assignment is to document the types of diagnoses which have been ruled out for both patients. While also listing and identifying additional tests and procedures that patients Joan Smith and Martha Wright received along with their corresponding rule out diagnoses. It is also a requirement to define five abbreviations found in the test/procedure results section of both patient’s medical record. Joan Smith Possible Medical Issues 1. Pneumothorax – in the patients x-ray examination it was discovered that her trachea was slightly deviated to the right, this could be a sign of pneumothorax. 2. Pulmonary Embolism – on the x-ray examination it was also discovered that the patient had shallow wedge-shaped dome shaped infraction which is called a Hampton hump. 3.
