Abstract
Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC), a commuter campus, lacks a
strong campus life. Student activities and organizations are sparse or only existent in name.
Leadership is needed on campus to propagate an environment where students want to be.
Leadership by faculty and students is needed to spearhead a revival of campus participation and
activities. Through research on the subject at other campuses faculty and student interaction are
vital in a strong, successful campus life that will aid students in the future. Success in college
correlates with success in life. To ensure the success of MCTC students, clubs and organizations
need to make an impact on that student’s life, starting on campus.

A Campus Without Activity Dies
Campus Life is Important
A bustling campus, full of students is a fun place to be. If this campus is Morehead State
or UK it is easy to stay busy with the vast array of activities a student can be involved in. On a
commuter campus where the “typical student” isn’t so typical, it is harder to get students
involved. Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a commuter campus that
needs more student involvement.
Student Organizations
There are many available organizations for students on MCTC’s campus. They can be
found under the “Current Students” and then “Student Life” tab on the MCTC website. The
organizations listed there include, Phi Theta Kappa, Student Ambassador, MLT and more.
