March 6, 2008 [ HISTORY TEST REVIEW ] one thinks, other than the continental congress, that they will win. The English pour troops in the Colonies. They start hiring troops from Germany and other places. They go all out to win the war. They congress realized in order to win; they need something else other then minutemen. If they are going to be a government, they are going to need an army. If they want to have a government, they have to do it with legitimacy. They form the Continental army. It doesn’t consist of much. They don’t have many professional troops. They have people with certain amount of experience from the French and Indian war, but not enough. What they do is gather all the local militias and form the continental army. It’s more of an idea when first formed. It becomes important later on and becomes a standard bearer for war for independence. As the war progresses, they start to get better. The English win most of the wars because the English is better than them. The key to the Continental army is not
