The French hate the British (traditional enemies) and they are looking for any way for revenge. The provide training, navy (becomes useful), and massive number of troops. Its because of this that the war changes. We couldnt have won the war without the French like Lafayette. The British start getting worn down. 1781 Yorktown The British lose a MAJOR battle called the battle of Yorktown. From this point on, the British are looking for a way out. They give up. By 1783, the war ends and the United States of America comes into existence. Britain didnt leave America. They are still in Canada but the U.S. is now an independent nation.
