THE RESEARCH QUESTION
RESEARCH HYPOTHESISThe Team’s hypothesis is that women that suffer from Postpartum Depression (PPD); are more likely to recover from this illness with pharmaceutical remedies, than their counterparts that explore holistic or home remedies The reason for this, is that there maybe a chemical imbalance that may be affecting them, or there could be environmental issues. Environmental issues could be a stressful home life. This sort of situation could warrant stronger, or quicker remedies via the prescription medication, than that of the home remedies. A test study amount of 100 women, 50 using holistic remedies while the remaining 50 use pharmaceutical remedies.
SUMMARY OF THE METHOD
SAMPLE USED IN THE STUDYWith PPD doctors as a series of questions. While the exact cause of PPD is unclear, the cause is believed to be a combination of physical and emotional factors. These may include factors such as hormonal changes and sleep deprivation. Risk factors include prior episodes of postpartum depression, bipolar disorder, a family history of depression, psychological stress, complications o childbirth, lack of support, or a drug use disorder. Diagnosis is based on a person's symptoms.
