As a group we decided that between Business Process Improvement (BPI) and Business Process Reengineering (BPR), we feel that BPR would be the best option. We believe that this would be the optimal decision as BPR would result in the radical redesign of core business and would involve in dramatic improvements for the business and basically adopting a whole new value system for the company. Whereas, BPI would only help accomplish significant improvement in the existing business. BPR would allow us to start off with a clean slate and rethink existing processes to deliver more value to the customer. Redesigning a business using the Business Process Reengineering can help a business experience very dramatic improvements with the quality of their product and overall increased productivity. After analyzing Junk Van’s business process, we determined that the BPR method would be a practical solution. Currently, Junk Van is operating with an unfitting virtual model, overseen by the owner, Kingo. Their staff members include one data clerk and two call center operations at the office; on field they have three drivers and helpers. The current communication process begins when the call center operator receives a call from a customer with the job information. They input that information using MS Works database and email the information to the evening call center operator. They then create and distribute a
