Hi Shemika, Your research study on anxiety in children is interesting and informative and that made me to search for this quantitative study of anxiety in children. In this was a non-experimental, quantitative, cross-sectional research study. It is non-experimental quantitative research that recruited the participants with the use of flyers and Facebook. One hundred forty-one children participated and answered surveys post the disaster. Age groups had varied results based on the developmental level. Research after storms, such as hurricanes Andrew, Hugo, Floyd, and Katrina, highlight the significant association between personal loss and PTSD symptomatology in children. Children and adolescents who were affected by Hurricane Katrina had a greater risk of having PTSD due to their helplessness (Galea, et al., 2007). Three age groups were used in the study; preschool (0-5 years), child (7-12 years), and adolescents (13-18 years). The Kruskal- Wallis Test was used to test the differences in the three age groups.
