FINDING RELIEF 2 FINDING RELIEF THROUGH SENIOR MEDICAL TRANSPORT Determining the Resources Required and Implementing the Plan A startup business relies heavily on ground transportation, this involves an astute knowledge of the insurance industry. The startup ride-share business differs from already existing independent ride share companies like Lyft or Uber since the drivers are classified as freelance contractors. Since the drivers are contractors and not employees, that means the Uber and Lyft drivers are obligated to pay their own insurance and fuel costs (Harrison, 2015). The first step in establishing this startup business is finding a strategic partner in an auto insurance company. Packaging the operations where the company, the drivers, and the patients are under protection from insurance makes it more attractive for potential employees. Roughly over 200,000 people used Uber or Lyft drivers, but neither of the companies insure their patients or drivers, jeopardizing a potential one million dollars in liability and workers compensation. This startup business will insure every driver, helping to easily attract drivers that were former Lyft or Uber drivers.
