ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY 2 Annotated Bibliography Bodie, M. T. (2018). Holacracy and the Law. Delaware Journal of Corporate Law . Wilmington. 43 (3), 619-686. This source outlines how there is no law requiring a specific company structure. The participatory management of Holacracy is being adopted by companies that are replacing organization charts and managers with roles and leads. This article takes Holacracy’s approach and how corporate law would respond given economic assumptions. Generally, Holacracy provides possibilities of participatory governance without assuming hierarchies that are typically used in businesses. Holacracy is only one of a set of relatively recent management systems that are designed to transform business hierarchies into flatter, team-oriented, constitutional structures. Traditionally-managed firms have a strict chain of command from CEO to vice- presidents to managers and so on down to the line worker, but self-managed companies devolve much more power to the team level. This source is beneficial to the final team paper by providing details of the Holacracy structure as well as how governance processes impact the approach. The implementation of Holacracy and evaluating the benefits must also include considering the potential challenges. The information provided can specifically assist in response to advantages and disadvantages of the model.
