PUBLICATION OF GENERAL RELATIVITY THEORY2Factors that Led to the Publication of General Relativity TheoryScience is a field of study which is dependent on previous discoveries. We have come along way from the time people believed that earth was flat and that the Sun revolved around theEarth to the explanation of relativity of entities in space. Nicholas Copernicus’ HeliocentricSystem theory explains that the Sun, not the Earth, is the center of the Solar System (Gingerich,1973, p., 513-522). His explanation of the Earth revolving around the Sun took society into anentirely different level of understanding the Universe. It is because of his explanation peoplestarted having a better understanding of the Earth and all the entities the Universe constitutes. His discovery also led to more curiosity, which enabled society to ask more questions. After along time of asking questions, it was time for society to have all the answers for their questionsbecause of one invention: The Telescope.
