Benchmark – Article Review Article ReviewFluid intelligence is the ability to come to a sound decision without having prior knowledge of the situation. Fluid intelligence is often associated with the ability to think flexibly,solve problems and recognize patterns. This type of intelligence is usually displayed in children but can often start to decline with an increase in age. In this paper we will review the article, TheRelationship Between Executive Functions and Fluid Intelligence in Parkinson’s Disease and discuss the strengths and weakness of the article. Major FindingsThe Relationship Between Executive Functions and Fluid Intelligence in Parkinson’s Disease discusses how the decline of fluid intelligence can play a serious role in frontal lobe deficits in those with Parkinson’s Disease (Roca et al., 2012). Throughout this study researchers saw that patients given executive tasks, such as verbal fluency, where able to complete them if fluid intelligence was present or introduced even with the speech deficit.
