1 Milestone Two: Draft of Compliance and Recommendations Anne Murtha Instructor: Professor Kelly Berge HIM-360 Coding and Classifications II 5-2 Final Project Milestone Two: Draft of Compliance and Recommendations Conducting internal monitoring and auditing: A daily random audit of approximately 15 patient encounters shall be conducted to ensure proper billing and coding documentation, policies and procedures are being executed. These audits will follow the all AMA, CMS guidelines and ICD-10 billing and coding structure already established. Throughout the audit process staff members conducting these audits will sign/date and acknowledge their audit results in a detailed summary that is attached to the patients encounter. Audits are to ensure that all meaningful use guidelines are met and documented for quality and continuity of care for all patients. Any discrepancies found shall be properly documented, in addition to the corrective action. Implementing compliance and practice standards: Through the utilization of the audit results and comments, we will implement compliancy and best practices policies and procedures accordingly. All staff members must adhere to these compliancy and best practices to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. To keep stakeholder apprised of all of our continuous efforts copies of all audits summaries will be released for review and comments.
