What shift was made and how do you see this present in the Churches today? In history there have been many historical figures that have helped achieve the rights for the weak, poor, and vulnerable. However, the most significant individual that stands out is Pope Leo XIII; the publisher of Rights and Duties of Capital and Labor, an encyclical named Rerum Novarum. In mind of all the difficulties, he addressed five crucial issues:private property, the right of the Church to speakon social issues, the role of the state, the worker’s right to a just wage, and the importance of worker associations.
