ISBN #: 978-0-07-352547-1 BIO 165L Laboratory Manual (Fall 2018 edition) by Forster et al. Clicker COURSE OBJECTIVES: This course is designed for non-science majors, fulfilling the Natural Science requirement of the GEP. The principal objective of this course is to develop the students’ scientific literacy and appreciation of the living world. The GEP objectives of this class include: Students will be able to evaluate scientific events. Students will be able to interpret graphical data. Students will evaluate scientific evidence within the context of at least one scientific discipline. Students will understand how scientific knowledge is evaluated and disseminated. Students will correctly use basic scientific terminology in writing and speaking. Students will demonstrate familiarity with basic laboratory skills and equipment. ASSESSMENT:Attendance: Lecture: Attendance and participation is expected. The "FA/Failure for attendance” option will be invoked if there aremore than 3 unexcused absences from lecture.Laboratory: Attendance is mandatory. You cannot “skip lab.”An absence will result in a zero for that lab assignment. Two lab absences will result in a FA for the entire course. If you miss a lab, please contact Dr. Forster ASAP so that he can see if you are able to make-up the lab.
