APA RESEARCH PAPER 12.10.18 1:55:32 PMThe Cold war was defined as a tension between the Soviet Union and the United States, there was never any true fighting directly between the two nations, however each supported many different wars among each’s regions allies. At the end the Soviet Union and the United States were considered the two superpower nations, but with massive differences in their political and economic ideology’s. During the late 1940’s and early 50’s post-cold war Americans fear of communism invading our homeland was very scary to many. Most Americanssaw the world as only free and not free. American foreign policy was focused on communism. (Keene, Cornell, & Donnell, 2011) Joseph McCarthy a republican Senator from Wisconsin felt the toleration regime of the Soviet Union and their policies of corruption, dishonesty, disloyalty and that the absents and proper behavior post war. He clams the evil that all are subject to because of war causing apathy and lack of morality.
