Aim of the investigation and related objectivesThe fundamental objective of this study is to scrutinize if there is a connection between emotional intelligence and efficient, successful leadership by those in charge of non-profit organizations. Other objectives of this study include the following1. Establish a link between emotional intelligence and leadership2. Establish the degree of emotional intelligence among leaders in non-profit organization3. Determine the present degree of transformational leadershipRationale for Choosing this Research Topic Most of the initial works on this topic that have been analyzed look to analyze the relation between profit based organizations and emotional intelligence, which means that very little has been channeled to study this relationship from a non-for profit organization perspective. Bacigalopo (2013)developed their analysis based on non-for profit organization. This is a clear indication that there is very little in terms of research in this topic, hence the main objective behind choosing this topic is to cover these gaps in the knowledge base and to encourage other professionals and individuals in the field to cover research on this font. This knowledge is also essential for the development and growth of the industry. Literature Review Industry Overview The philanthropic sector, commonly referred to as the non-profit sector are organizations that conduct their operations without financial aims when they deliver goods and services (Agard, 2011). They analyze success by looking at the number of communities that they have served, but notthe finances gathered. Blackbaud (2012) observes that the number of this type of organizations have increased by 75% in the past few years. Emotional intelligence What is emotional intelligence? Emotional intelligence is defined based on a wide array of models, but they all converge on the fact that it involves acting rationally or keeping a cool emotional head when faced with a particular situation.
