Description of the organization Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers, Inc provides quality care and therapeutic rehabilitation services to individuals who suffer with brain and spinal cord injuries. Patients range in age because they care for both adults and children. There are many treatment centers located throughout southeastern Michigan but patients come from all over the country. Every aspect of the rehabilitation process is applied while in these centers so that clients can reach optimal recovery. The needs of clients varies from intensive therapy, ongoing medical attention and behavioral retraining. There are many individuals needed to provide care to those in need of it like nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists and etc. The main person caring for these clients is a rehabilitation assistant, they maintain their hygiene, do laundry, administer medication and provide meals. When it comes to the competitive environment of the organization pricing and quality of patient care are the main components. Special Tree is the organization that is in top competition with Rainbow but they exceed Special Tree with pricing and patient care. Rainbow cares more about what can be done to make the patients feel at home while Special Tree just cares about their facilities appealing as if they care. Rainbow goes to the extent of putting slide out closets and dining tables for their clients who find it hard to depend on someone so heavily and want more independence. Special Tree will try to counter this by adding a new lazy boy chair in the TV room but that is very basic compared to what Rainbow has to offer. Rainbow has made much progress over the years, they were established in 1996 and since has maintained a 97% satisfaction rate, served 600+ clients each year, maintained 800 employees yearly and has develop 48 locations. This organization has encountered many issues sometimes on a daily basis depending on the location. The most extreme issue could be death of a client but a less extreme issue could be someone, a Rehabilitation Assistant perhaps, forgetting to complete their paperwork. The tasks we perform are stagnant unless we are responsible for passing medications. Generally, the medication passer carries a heavier load because medications need to be passed throughout the whole entire day. When you are assigned the medical cart you also are assigned to

a group of patients to care for throughout your shift. Due to this, we as assistants are only assigned to a cart once or twice a week because there are two carts and you can be on one for a day and the other the next day.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
